FUNCTIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS AT SHEBRO MFG. CO.
Headed a group of cosmetic chemists and perfumers and reported to the Company Director. All the products developed have been commercialized and exported.

Involved in the management of R&D projects for cosmetics and perfumes products.
Cosmetics-Talcum powder, Lipsticks, Deodorant sticks, Nail enamel, Nail polish remover, Hair oils, Hair dyes (Natural).
Perfumes-Spray perfumes, Gel perfumes, Aerosols, Roll-on perfumes, Deodorant sprays.

Involved in designing and installing R&D laboratory for cosmetics and perfumers development at Vasai, near Mumbai.

Evaluated the existing R&D set up and suggested improvements in it as well as future strategy for R&D in cosmetics and perfumes.

Coordinated with purchase department, external testing laboratories, and marketing department for ensuring good quality raw materials and development of new products.

Talcum powder-Suggested several modifications in the talcum powder manufacturing unit, which reduced cost and increased production. Identified new ingredients for incorporation in talcum powder products for cost reduction and product improvement. These new ingredients have been incorporated.

Lipsticks-Involved in the commissioning of lipstick manufacturing plant producing several dozens of lipstick shades. Suggested various measures including machinery modifications and production procedures, which improved the product. Developed and implemented quality control methods and systems for raw materials as well as finished products. Investigated the problem of lipstick melting during transport and remedies were implemented to avoid the same.

Nail enamel-Development and testing of nail enamel formulation.

Perfumes-Identified, tested and implemented new surfactants for spray perfumes to improve the stability of perfume formulation and cost reduction. Development and commercialization of water-based perfumes. Development of synthetic ylang ylang oil, civet and various perfume formulations-concentrates and finished products. Also helped in market development of these products.

Hair oils-Development of various hair oil formulations. Non-greasy, non-freezing hair oil developed and commercialized.

Designed and developed method of extraction of odoriferous compounds from Amla seeds, which has been commercialized.

Designed, developed and commercialized method for recovery and fractionation of high-value essential oils-Agar wood oil, Palma Rosa oil.

Literature survey reports-Deodorization of Isopropyl Alcohol, Production of Oleoresins, Anti-foaming agents, Safety of Alkylphenol Ethoxylates.
